1888 CHOP HOUSE

Over the past decade, I've had the privilege of collaborating closely with the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in creating a rich library of imagery. I was approached to act as the Creative Director in creating a new visual identity for the hotel's upscale restaurant, 1888 Chop House.

Drawing inspiration from the iconic Rocky Mountain landscape of Banff National Park, I envisioned a fusion of rugged natural textures with the sophistication of 1888's culinary offerings. This juxtaposition of raw wilderness and refined cuisine formed the cornerstone of the concept—a harmonious blend of luxury and locality.

To bring the concept to life, I commissioned artist Julya Hajnoczky, renowned for her ability to capture the intricate beauty of Canada's ecosystems. Julya meticulously crafted authentic tablescapes with ethically foraged materials, serving as the perfect backdrop to showcase 1888's finest ingredients.

Myself and cinematographer Mike Seehagel worked together to capture the culinary creations, kitchen ambiance, and the harmony of all elements working together. The synergy of our collaboration culminated in a visually captivating identity—one that seamlessly merges the untamed wilderness with the elegance of fine dining.
